Cole Pletka - Brazos Valley Bombers

Cole Pletka, Brazos Valley Bombers, Pitcher, Alvin Community College, 6’7

A perfect game. Every pitchers dream is to one day accomplish this feat. Product of Richmond, Texas, towering Pitcher Cole Pletka had a week he will remember for the rest of his life. The right-handed freshman got his second start for the Brazos Valley Bombers and made the most of it. The game was scheduled to start on June 3rd and was postponed due to a rain delay, which gave Pletka extra time to prepare for his second start against the Texarkana Twins.

A rule that some may not be aware of in the TCL is that with the game being postponed due to rain, it resulted in the next day double-header games to be 7 innings. Pletka took advantage of this rule and was able to record 8 strikeouts, while striking out the side in the 2nd inning. His first TCL start consisted of 3 innings and gave up 4 runs on 5 hits. Cole recorded final out on a fly out to right field. Throughout the season Pletka will hope to show more consistency this summer.

This past season at ACC, Pletka appeared in 10 games and recorded 7 starts. He had an overall record of 3-2 with a 4.39 ERA as well as logging 31 strikeouts.
