STEAM SNAP LOSING SKID, RAINOUT IN WICHITA FALLS


As Coppell and Wichita Falls have to reschedule another double header due to the inclement weather on Thursday, Mineral Wells and Duncanville faced off and the Steam snapped their losing skid.


MINERAL WELLS 5, DUNCANVILLE 2
The Mineral Wells Steam snapped a 10-game skid and rode the arm of James Oliver in a 5-2 win over the Duncanville Deputies on Thursday at Pratt Field.Oliver struck out 10 and held Duncanville to two hits over seven innings while picking up his second win of the season.Steam designated hitter Kurt Waid was 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Josh Vander Hey and Bo Coffman also contributed two hits each.Duncanville starter Jim McGonigle struck out six in five innings, but was saddled with the loss and two unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth.

BRAZOS VALLEY 6, WEATHERFORD 2
The Bombers and Wranglers fought through the wet conditions Thursday night and Brazos Valley came out on top with a 6-2 victory.  Will Currier silenced the Wranglers bats giving up no runs over 6 1/3 innings and only allowing four hits.  The Wranglers' were plagued by their four errors in the field.
