Player of the Week
Thomas made the most of his three games last week, batting a robust .500 (7-for-14) in helping the Bombers to a 3-0 record. With triples in consecutive games against East Texas and a two-double outing against McKinney, Thomas slugged a league-leading .929 for the week. He also scored four runs and batted in another for the Bombers, who improved to 11-6 on the season. An El Cajon, Calif., native, Thomas is coming off a strong junior season at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Pitcher of the Week
Nowell did everything but earn the win in his outing against McKinney last week, going seven strong innings before the Copperheads pulled out the late win. Nowell tossed seven innings of two-hit ball, allowing just one unearned run and striking out ten Marshals. The hard-luck freshman from Navarro College is 0-1 on the season but boasts a 1.74 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 20.2 innings.
