Bombers Sign Three Florida Players for 2016

Three Texans Return Home to Wear Bomber Blue in 2016

Bryan-College Station, TX (April 4, 2016) - The Brazos Valley Bombers are proud to announce the welcoming of three new state of Florida players to the team; Luke Hamblin from UCF, MacGregor Hines from Florida, along with Michael Agis from FIU. All three players are originally from Texas, and are coming home for the summer.

Junior Luke Hamblin, a center fielder from the University of Central Florida played the past two seasons at Grayson College generating a .372 average with 70 runs scored, 17 stolen bases and 38 RBI during his sophomore season. “[He’s] a really talented player, high energy left-handed hitting lead-off type hitter that can really range in the outfield,” said Bombers Head Coach Curt Dixon.

Freshman MacGregor Hines, a right-handed pitcher (RHP) is coming home to the College Station area after spending his freshman season at the University of Florida. Hines was 10-2 his senior year at College Station High School, registered 84 strikeouts and compiled a 1.27 earned run average. “Really talented arm...and excited that he’s coming back to be a part of the Bombers this summer,” said Coach Dixon.

Junior Michael Agis, a right-handed pitcher (RHP) from Florida International University, played at Broward College from 2013-15 where he earned all-conference recognition in 2015. Agis played in 14 games earning a 2-0 record while throwing 28 strikeouts and a 2.00 ERA. “Right handed arm that can be in the back end of the bullpen, having a good year for Florida International,” said Coach Dixon.

All three players are coming back to Texas for the summer and will be a big part of the Bombers’ pursuit of a fourth consecutive league title.
