Generals Raise $36,920 with Jersey Auctions

With the 2018 season in its final weeks, the Generals are poised for a playoff run in search of the TCL Championship. 2018 marked the fifth season that the Generals have held jersey auctions to benefit organizations within our community. In 2014, the Generals raised $18,500 for Warrior's Weekend and Guardians of the Ribbon.  New for 2015, the Generals added a purple jersey to benefit the Alzheimer's Association and raised $34,850 with the three jersey auctions. In 2016, the Generals raised $33,896 and in 2017, the Generals raised $32,375.

The first jersey auction for 2018 was held on June 8th as players, coaches and special guests wore PINK jerseys to benefit the fight against cancer thanks to our jersey sponsor Citizens Medical Center. Over the past four seasons, the pink jerseys have brought in a total of $40,000 to go towards cancer awareness and the fight against cancer. The 2018 event was a success bringing in $12,345 for the cause and bringing the four year total to $52,345 raised for the fight against cancer!

The second jersey auction was held on July 7th as players and coaches wore commemorative jerseys for two nights. The patriotic jerseys payed tribute to our military this season and were auctioned off to benefit Warrior's Weekend thanks to our jersey sponsor TISD Internet Services. The event brought in $14,450 for the Warrior's Weekend Organization and showed how well our community supports our troops! Over the past five seasons, the Warrior's jerseys have brought in $68,725 for our Warriors!

Our final jersey auction was held on July 28th with players and coaches wearing PURPLE jerseys to benefit the Alzheimer's Association sponsored by Senior Helpers, Atzenhoffer Chevrolet and the Victoria Advocate. Over the previous three seasons, the purple jerseys have brought in a total of $25,400 to go towards Alzheimer's research. In 2018, the jersey auction raised $10,150 for the Alzheimer's Association, bringing the four year total to $35,550.

The three special nights brought in $36,920, our largest total ever for these three organizations and really shows how our fans support these great causes. Our five year total for all the jersey auctions totals $156,920. The Victoria Generals organization would like to thank everyone for their generosity and the Generals look forward to future jersey auctions to continue supporting these organizations.
